This has been the biggest year for continuing education. From the a 2 day Women’s Health Symposium in Melbourne early in the year, a pessary workshop in May, our national APA conference just held in Brisbane, an Overactive Bladder one day workshop in Brisbane coming up at the end of November – it has been huge. But one of the most important for the year is the Continence Foundation of Australia’s National Conference starting on Wednesday in Melbourne.
At this national forum, specialists, general practitioners, physiotherapists, continence nurses and consumers come together to hear the most up-to-date research into continence issues. It is another opportunity to network, to catch up with the latest product information at the usually fantastic Trade Display, and of course engage in dialogue with colleagues about all things to do with continence.
I will be posting short updates from the conference so keep checking my blog. It will be busy in Melbourne with the President’s Cup– one of the biggest events on the golfing calendar – also being held in Melbourne in the same week. Interestingly, to do with both golf and continence – if you watched the Gruen Planet last week on the ABC you would have seen an interesting device modelled on a hollow golf club, in case you were ‘caught short’ on the golf course. Use your imagination or better still check out the very funny ad featured on the ABC’s Gruen Planet! http://www.abc.net.au/tv/gruenplanet/web_extras.htm and click on the ‘URO CLUB’.
